theARTScentered and The City of Vancouver are interested in how my business model is shining light, supporting, and advocating for artists. Through this special arts and cultural space, I've been experiencing something called "Radical Hospitality", which is pretty much where my creative ideas are "okayed" and given permission to manifest. As a big thinker and now a creative entrepreneur, this is an incredible acceptance. After a lifetime of NO's and folks not taking any of my big ideas seriously. It feels amazing that finally I got a yes, and not just a yes, a right sized YES. The feeling of someone believing in me, my vision, and business model, is something I am driven to pay forward. So I want to embody the phrase and concept of "Radical Hospitality".
Art presented in the gallery will be original pieces by PaperCut Society artists. There is no fee for the artist to display, and there is no jury or contest, or submitting process. AND 100% of the sale of any piece goes directly to that artist!
Who does that?!!! PaperCut Society does, that's who!
I build connections. I build relationships. I have personally spoken to each of the artists, to celebrate how amazing they are, and let them know how valued they are, and should feel grounded in the world, because of their unique expression. The Radical Hospitality Gallery is a way for them to tangibly see this talk, turn into action, and internalize their value by seeing themselves presented in this way. It's a powerful message to be invited, accepted, and welcomed, in A BIG YES WAY, and in this very special arts and cultural space seen by community members.
Let's make our community creatives feel as valued as they are.
PaperCut Society is just one chapter in this giant community book theARTScenterd is creating in this space. You can support this organization and learn more here.
